Affiliate FAQs

How does it work?
Internet Café owners register as an affiliate of CyberMedia and provide some basic information about their business including the number of terminals which they have and the average number of customers they have each day.

We then review and approve the application and issue the internet café with a URL which includes a unique identifier to enable us to track the number of times adverts are displayed by each terminal in their cafe.

Every month we produce a report outlining the performance of each Internet Café and send a cheque to the agreed amount.

What sort of companies will affiliates be asked to promote?
Affiliates will promote any advertiser that CyberMedia secures. These will often be big brand names promoting technology, telecommunications, property, travel, retail and financial services.

Are any companies excluded from advertising on the network?
We won't accept advertising from companies promoting adult services nor will we run adverts from other internet cafés.

What advertising methods are currently available?

There are two options at the monent,1 for affiliates in London and the other for affiliates nationwide.

London

We are soft-launching in London with a revenue sharing programme based on www.surflondon.co.uk.

Affiliates will earn a share of 60% of the websites turnover during a 6 month trial from February 2008.The portal will have links to hundreds of websites for leading brands and businesses. The site will make money from adverts, commissions on bookings and sales of products.

Nationwide

During the trial affiliates with premises outside London can still join CyberMedia and make use of the "CyberAds" system. This is a basic portal for internet cafes to set as the default homepage on their terminals. The portal will include a google search feature, display advertising and text based adverts promoting popular products and services from leading brands. 50% of revenue from this portal will be shared among affiliates. The Cybads portal  will run on the default homepage of browsers in the internet café. There will be no pop-ups, pop-unders or software to install.

Will you introduce other advertising methods in future?
Yes. We are currently undertaking an aggressive campaign to recruit affiliates. Once we have 100 affiliates we will re-focus on introducing more innovative and lucrative products.

How much does it cost to become an affiliate of CyberMedia?
There are no fees for joining the CyberMedia network. In fact, we pay you a bonus for joining and then pay you for advertising campaigns which we run on your terminals.

How much do you pay affiliates?

We pay affiliates a share of revenue from the portal which they set as their default homepage. The amount paid is calculated each month based on the revenue for that month and the volume of traffic  generated by each internet cafe. This means the busier your internet café is the more you earn.

How often will affiliates be paid?
Payment is sent out quarterly subject to a minimum payment of £100. Payment will be made by bank transfer or Paypal.

How does the advertising work?
When internet cafés register as an affiliate they will be given a URL which they must set as the default homepage on the browsers installed on their computers for the duration of the affiliate agreement. We will handle the rest. You will normally be linking to a website which we own. This website will have numerous revenue generating opportunties and adverts from leading brands. A portion of the money made from this site will be paid to each affiliated internet cafés.

How will you know whether a specific terminal is running your adverts?
Every terminal in each internet café has a unique identifier which will enable us to monitor the usage of our system. We will then produce monthly reports for advertisers and affiliates.

Whats the catch?

We only pay for terminals which have displayed an advert more than 500 times in any calendar month.
